Abstract

This overview of the Center for Research Libraries’ collection strengths in the science, technology, and medical (STM) subject areas highlights the nature and origins of the STM collections, early acquisitions, and exchange agreements that have provided a continuous influx of new resources over the years. Specifically, this article focuses on the five core components of the STM collections — science journals, medical monographs, textbooks, dissertations, and resources acquired through CRL’s cooperative acquisition programs — and includes information on traditional and digital preservation activities.
