Library Trends in Uzbekistan
Abstract
In October 2011, the author had the privilege of conducting a series of seminars for librarians in Uzbekistan as a speaker for the U.S. Dept. of State’s U.S. Speaker and Specialist Program. This paper documents some of the observations made during the question and answer sessions of the presentations, meetings with library directors and administrators, and tours of the libraries in Tashkent, Samarkand, Urgench, and Ferghana.
